Med/Surg RN Job Details – Parkersburg, WV

• Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia 26101 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Unit: 4N Ortho-Neuro (Medical Surgical Unit)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00-19:30), rotating weekends and holidays
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,820 - $1,950 per week
• Start Date: November 24, 2025
• Charting System: EPIC EMR
• Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Ability to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
• Must submit an unexpired driver's license with application

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients recovering from elective orthopedic surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders), fractures, and neuro-surgeries
• Manage patient assignments with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Administer IV fluids and operate PCA pumps
• Collaborate with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage
• Complete accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
• Float to other Med/Surg units as required
• Follow unit dress code and hospital policies
