Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Facility: 40-bed Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
• Shift: 8 Hour Days (07:30–16:00)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Dress Code: Navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with post-operative or vascular patient populations (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) preferred
• CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience is a plus
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
• Strong teamwork skills and flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care for cardiac and vascular surgery patients, including open heart and thoracic procedures
• Monitor and manage telemetry and stepdown-level patients
• Perform and manage procedures such as epidural and chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV gluccomander
• Administer and titrate cardiac gtts (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with unit policies and clinical guidelines
