Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
- Facility: 40-bed Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/22/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
- Shift: 8 Hour Days (07:30–16:00)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Dress Code: Navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or telemetry nursing experience
- Experience with post-operative or vascular patient populations (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) preferred
- CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Strong teamwork skills and flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care for cardiac and vascular surgery patients, including open heart and thoracic procedures
- Monitor and manage telemetry and stepdown-level patients
- Perform and manage procedures such as epidural and chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV gluccomander
- Administer and titrate cardiac gtts (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with unit policies and clinical guidelines
