Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 22 beds
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
• Dress Code: Scrubs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,260 - $1,350

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute Med/Surg nursing experience
• Proficient in caring for 4-6 patients simultaneously in a medical-surgical setting
• Skilled in IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, EHR documentation (Meditech), NGT insertion/maintenance, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Patient-centered, positive, and team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to float to other Med/Surg units as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Perform standard clinical procedures and monitor patient status
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Accurately document patient care in the Meditech electronic medical record system
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Participate in unit activities and foster a positive team culture
