Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Johnson City, TN 37604 (East Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center Operating Room
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/14/2025 – End: 3/15/2026)
• Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (06:30 – 19:00); occasional call and weekends required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 18 Operating Rooms

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (OR RN jobs)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state (must be in hand at submission)
• AHA BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Experience in General OR, Pediatric General OR, and Trauma cases required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility (travel nursing requirement)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Ability to complete pre-employment drug testing and fit testing per CDC guidelines
• First-time travel nurses welcome to apply

OR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care for surgical patients of all ages
• Scrub and circulate for trauma, orthopedic, general, pediatric, and robotic surgeries
• Participate in call rotation and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
• Mentor nursing students and contribute to clinical education within the healthcare team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
• Complete required orientation (16 hours) and online modules (4-5 hours)
