Travel Mammography Technologist Job Details
- Location: Portland, OR 97239 (Oregon healthcare job)
- Setting: Hospital-based Mammography Unit
- Assignment Type: Travel Radiologic Technologist
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 16, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts/week (08:00 - 16:00; some shifts 10:30 - 19:00 Monday-Friday; possible Saturday coverage 07:00 - 17:30 as needed)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On-call: Rotating on-call coverage with other mammographers
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2220 - $2380
Mammography Technologist Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited 2-year Radiologic Technology program
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mammography Technologist, including at least 6 consecutive months of breast imaging in the past year
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R) with current Oregon license
- Meets MQSA requirements for mammographers
- ARRT (M) Mammography registration within six months of hire
- Valid BLS certification
- Experience with Epic charting system
- Proficient in Digital Mammography, Diagnostic Mammograms, Screening Mammograms, PACS, and 3-D Mammography
- Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
Mammography Technologist Responsibilities
- Position patients for diagnostic imaging following department protocols and equipment requirements
- Operate mammography equipment, set exposure factors, and use advanced imaging techniques for high-quality results
- Perform a full range of mammographic exams: screening, diagnostic, ductograms, needle localizations, specimen radiographs, and stereotactic procedures
- Utilize computer image processing to select and optimize images
- Present exams and patient data to radiologists for interpretation
- Assist with patient transport and maintain patient safety using proper radiation safety protocols
- Accurately document and label all imaging activities and patient information
- Conduct quality control and assurance, recording results and reporting equipment issues to meet MQSA standards
- Follow universal precautions and maintain sterile technique as required
- Communicate effectively and provide compassionate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Adhere to departmental policies and uphold standards of service excellence
