Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Bangor, Maine (04401) – Maine nursing jobs
- Unit: Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit (G5, 44 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
- Start Date: December 23, 2025
- End Date: March 21, 2026
- Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 48 guaranteed
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 2 days hospital orientation + 1 unit shift
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- Scrub Color: Any professional color
- Parking: Free in designated areas
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $2040
Med/Surg Tele RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Maine or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (more preferred)
- BLS certification (required)
- NIHSS and ACLS certifications (preferred)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting rhythm strips
- Previous charge nurse experience highly preferred
- First-time travel nurses welcome – great opportunity for new travelers!
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical diagnoses (excluding primary cardiac)
- Monitor and care for patients on telemetry, including those with stroke, COPD, respiratory illnesses, GI bleeds, renal failure, and electrolyte imbalances
- Administer and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), insulin drips, and heparin drips (training provided if needed)
- Perform trach care, chest tube management, wound care, IV starts, central line management, and other core med/surg RN skills
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and physical therapists
- Float as needed to other Medical Surgical or Telemetry units within scope of practice
- Maintain professional standards, effective communication, and teamwork at all times
