Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Rochelle Park, NJ 07662 (New Jersey healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Assignment
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Jersey RN license preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required before first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required before first shift
• Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical nursing experience
• At least 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience highly preferred
• Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Participate in patient rehabilitation, discharge planning, and clinical support activities
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
• Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and clinical protocols
• Foster a positive, efficient, and professional work environment through teamwork and ongoing professional development
