Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Charleston, WV (25301) – West Virginia nursing jobs
• Unit: 2 South - Medical Rehab (24 beds)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); weekdays and every other weekend
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/18/2025 – End: 3/19/2026)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week (discuss options with manager)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1680–$1730 per week
• Orientation: 16 hours (biweekly, every other Thursday)
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue/White (or combination)
• Parking: Free parking garage available for travel nurses

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted; must be active by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• At least 1 year of Medical/Surgical or Acute Rehab nursing experience
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Every other weekend required
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions only)
• Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (75-99 miles considered case-by-case)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and social workers
• Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and educate patients and families
• Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate charting and documentation
• Float to other Medical/Surgical units as needed
• Participate in patient safety and hospital quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
