Key Job Details – ICU Nursing Jobs in Chicago
- Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/16/2025 – End: 3/17/2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM); every other weekend required
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960 per week
- Healthcare Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center; Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU
- On-Site Position
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for Chicago nursing jobs)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no COVID-19 exemptions; medical/religious exemptions for Flu only)
- Ability to float between ICU units and Med-Surg units as needed
- Strong compliance and responsiveness to onboarding requirements
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in various ICU specialties
- Float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU to support staffing needs
- Perform advanced clinical nursing skills: arterial line management, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
