RN Job Details – Chicago Healthcare Opportunity

  • Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (West Side)
  • Healthcare Setting: General Medicine/Telemetry Unit (7E)
  • Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
  • Start Date: December 16, 2025
  • End Date: March 17, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Nursing Shifts: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
  • Floating: Mandatory float within facility and up to 50 miles as needed
  • Charting System: Cerner
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no exemptions for COVID-19; medical/religious exemptions for Flu only)
  • Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
  • Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
  • Ability to provide proof of vaccinations 1 week prior to start date

RN Responsibilities – Medical/Surgical Nursing

  • Deliver high-quality patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, perform tracheostomy and peripheral line care, and respond to rapid response/code teams
  • Administer medications, manage oxygen therapy, and provide non-invasive airway management
  • Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Float to other units and facilities as required to meet patient care needs
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner
