RN Job Details – Chicago Healthcare Opportunity
- Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (West Side)
- Healthcare Setting: General Medicine/Telemetry Unit (7E)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Start Date: December 16, 2025
- End Date: March 17, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shifts: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Floating: Mandatory float within facility and up to 50 miles as needed
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no exemptions for COVID-19; medical/religious exemptions for Flu only)
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Willingness to float to other units and facilities as needed
- Ability to provide proof of vaccinations 1 week prior to start date
RN Responsibilities – Medical/Surgical Nursing
- Deliver high-quality patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, perform tracheostomy and peripheral line care, and respond to rapid response/code teams
- Administer medications, manage oxygen therapy, and provide non-invasive airway management
- Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other units and facilities as required to meet patient care needs
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner
