Perfusionist Job Details

• Location: Texarkana, Texas 75503
• Healthcare Setting: Operating Room (OR), Cardiovascular Surgery
• Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (arrive 30 minutes before scheduled surgery for set-up)
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (temp-to-perm option available)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2940–$3160

Perfusionist Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited perfusionist program
• Active Texas Perfusionist License
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Perfusionist preferred (new graduates considered)

Perfusionist Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cardiopulmonary bypass pump, Cell Saver, autotransfuser, and intra-aortic balloon pump during cardiovascular surgery
• Provide clinical support to physicians and surgical staff during procedures
• Set up and manage heart-lung bypass pumps and ECMO systems
• Operate auto transfusion (blood cell saver) equipment for surgical cases
• Demonstrate expertise in patient management, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, cardiology, surgical techniques, and physiologic monitoring
• Assist with intra-aortic balloon pump insertion in OR, Cath Lab, and ICU settings
• Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of perfusion equipment per manufacturer guidelines
• Support healthcare quality and infection control data reporting
