Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026; End: April 11, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,910
• Orientation: Every other Monday
• Patient Population: Med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
• Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse License
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Complete work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days
• Skills Checklist and license verification via Nursys
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and IMCU patients
• Monitor and assess patients with complex cardiac, neuro, and med-surg conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and support students and new hires
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Participate in orientation and ongoing education in a teaching hospital environment
• Follow hospital policies, including holiday and weekend scheduling requirements
