Job Details – Illinois Nursing Jobs

• Location: Peoria, IL 61637
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Cardio Thoracic Telemetry Unit
• Assignment Length: 18 weeks (12/15/2025 – 4/20/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990 - $2130
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required (every other weekend & rotating holidays)
• Charting System: EPIC

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application in process
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in telemetry nursing or similar clinical support role
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and medication titration
• Strong clinical skills, including basic nursing care and experience with titratable cardiac drips (Cardizem, heparin)
• Ability to float to other general medical units as needed

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adults with cardiac and thoracic diagnoses, including MI, CHF, A-fib, COPD, and post-lung surgery patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips (Phillips monitors) and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Titrate cardiac drips as ordered by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
• Maintain a professional appearance (scrubs: any color, adult-appropriate prints)
• Support a safe, patient-centered environment in accordance with hospital policies
