Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Kingsport, TN 37660 (Tennessee healthcare job)
• Position: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg RN)
• Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Start Date: December 14, 2025
• End Date: March 15, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (18:30 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 (36/36 or 36/48 schedule options)
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Required as needed to other hospital units
• No On-Call
• Patient Ratio: 1:7
• Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
• Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2070 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical and Telemetry RN experience
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Accepts first-time travel nurses
• Must complete drug testing 12-14 days prior to start date
• Facial hair must comply with CDC fit testing guidelines
• BSN required for international travel nurses

RN Job Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and adolescent patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage IVs, central lines, and feeding tubes
• Administer medications, blood products, and perform phlebotomy as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy
• Support and mentor nursing students as part of the clinical education team
• Float to other hospital units as required to meet patient care needs
• Document patient care accurately using Epic (preferred)
• Participate in rapid response/code teams as needed
