Travel RN Job Details – Med/Surg Unit

• Assignment Length: 14 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1460-$1500
• Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit – 34 beds, average census 27
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Charting: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Floating: Within facility as needed
• Holiday Coverage: Holiday shifts required during assignment

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Georgia or Compact State RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS and CPI preferred
• Experience with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Proficiency with NGT, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vacs
• Ability to float to other units within the facility as needed
• Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred
• Full compliance with healthcare onboarding and orientation requirements

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses (e.g., appendicitis, cholecystitis, small bowel obstruction, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, sepsis, hypertension, hypo/hyperglycemia)
• Manage post-surgical patients (e.g., prostatectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, ostomy creation/reversal, exploratory lap, bowel resections)
• Perform and monitor specialized procedures and equipment including NGT, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vacs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Document patient care accurately using Epic and follow SBAR communication protocols
• Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives
• Float to other clinical units within the facility as required
