Travel Nurse Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment
• Location: Jackson, TN 38301 (West Tennessee)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Healthcare Setting: On-Site Hospital
• Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800
• Shifts per Week: 3

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum of 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years preferred)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) or related specialties preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care according to individualized nursing care plans
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and goals
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning
• Communicate changes in patient status to healthcare providers to ensure continuity and safety
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures
• Foster a positive and efficient work environment through teamwork and resourcefulness
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
