RN Job Details – Charleston, WV Healthcare Jobs

• Location: Charleston, WV 25304 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Unit: 5 South Medical/Surgical Oncology Unit (29 beds, adult population)
• Contract Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
• Start Date: December 18, 2025
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680-$1730
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Free parking for travel nurses
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue/White (RN)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (Medical/Surgical or Oncology nursing preferred)
• Active West Virginia or Compact RN License (pending license acceptable)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
• Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (75-99 miles considered for approval)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions only)

RN Responsibilities – Medical/Surgical & Oncology Nursing

• Deliver compassionate care to adult medical, surgical, oncology, urology, and telemetry patients
• Administer blood products, chemotherapy (preferred), and manage central lines, ports, and PCA pumps
• Assist with bone marrow aspirations and Pleurx chest tubes
• Monitor and respond to acute oncological emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, sepsis, hemorrhage, spinal cord compression)
• Educate patients and families on oncology processes and palliative care
• Float to similar units as needed to support hospital staffing needs
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV teams
