Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Charleston, WV 25304 (West Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts per week)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (West Virginia or compact state)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience in a Med/Surg or acute care setting
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly using electronic medical records (EMR)
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to care team members to ensure continuity and patient safety
• Supervise and provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and safety procedures
• Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
