Travel RN Job Details

• Location: La Crosse, VA 23950 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910 - $1960
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Orientation: 72 hours, including modules
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend

Med/Surg Tele RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (community hospital experience preferred)
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (must be in hand at time of submission)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association)
• BSN preferred
• Ability to provide 2 professional nursing references
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Ability to float within scope as needed

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products, cardiac drips (no titration), and manage central and peripheral lines
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, and manage surgical drains
• Utilize EPIC for accurate charting and clinical documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
• Support patients with diverse diagnoses, including post-MI, renal failure, and orthopedic trauma
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including natural nail policy and required orientation modules
