Orthopedic RN Job Details

• Job Title: Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing
• Location: Peoria, Illinois 61637
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,990 - $2,130
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Orthopedic Unit (43 private beds)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Contract Duration: 18 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am), 3 shifts/week, weekend and holiday rotation
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Policy: Any color scrubs; professional appearance required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or proof of application in progress
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in orthopedic nursing, postoperative surgical care, or medical-surgical nursing
• Experience with orthopedic and trauma cases preferred
• Ability to work every other weekend and some holidays

Orthopedic Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients
• Manage postoperative orthopedic and trauma cases, including fracture care
• Monitor and assess patients using house-wide telemetry (Phillips monitors)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs (PCTs)
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed
• Troubleshoot CPAP and heated high-flow equipment
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing education
