Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Park Ridge, IL 60068 (Chicago suburb)
• Setting: Hospital – Clinical Respiratory Services
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/29/2025 – End: 3/28/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2070 - $2120 per week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: 1 summer and 1 winter holiday

RRT Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT in a hospital or clinical setting
• Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• RRT-NPS certification preferred
• Pediatric respiratory care experience preferred
• Proficiency in invasive/non-invasive ventilation, Servo ventilator, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), airway clearance, aerosol delivery, and high flow devices
• Ability to float to NICU, PICU, pediatric floors, and Pediatric ER
• Experience with EPIC charting system

Key Responsibilities for Hospital RRTs

• Provide respiratory therapy to pediatric and acute care patients, including high flow oxygen, suctioning, and ventilatory support
• Manage acute respiratory cases (RSV, Entero-Rhino viruses, flu, intubated ICU patients) and chronic conditions (asthma, SMA)
• Perform airway clearance techniques, aerosol therapy, and operate advanced respiratory equipment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Level III NICU and Level 1 Trauma settings
• Float to NICU, PICU, general pediatric floors, and Pediatric ER as needed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
