PICU RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PICU nursing experience
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Strong clinical skills in pediatric critical care and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status, vital signs, and progress
• Administer medications, treatments, and life-saving interventions as prescribed
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during critical care situations
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in compliance with hospital policies
