Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age of the patient population on assigned units. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.


Employment Details

  • Type: Travel
  • Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour day shifts (06:30 AM - 5:00 PM) with variable days off
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Weekend Requirement: None, but can volunteer for call at Main campus
  • On Call Requirement: None, but staff may need to stay if cases run past scheduled block
  • Floating: Primary location is PMC; must be willing to float to Main campus or other locations as needed

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
    • BLS Certification required
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served
    • Sensitive to patients’ rights in care delivery
    • Clear and age-appropriate communication

Experience & Supervision

  • Reports to Patient Care Director or Manager

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens (Category C in OR, PACU, Labor & Delivery; Category B in other patient care areas)
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays
  • Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment
  • Subject to stressful professional relationships and variable hours due to emergencies or schedule changes
  • Physical demands include prolonged standing/walking, heavy lifting/positioning of patients and equipment, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Requires good visual and hearing acuity, manual dexterity, and fine motor coordination

This role is suited for RNs comfortable with a dynamic hospital environment, flexible scheduling, and patient care across multiple units.
