Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Kansas City, KS 66112 (Kansas nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or compact state (Kansas City healthcare jobs)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Med/Surg RN
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients
• Deliver high-quality patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team and seek consultation as needed
• Participate in team building and contribute to a positive healthcare work environment
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education and self-study
• Perform additional nursing duties as assigned
