- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; every other weekend; holidays; 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800 - $1930
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (required for New York nursing jobs)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI only, required)
- NIHSS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Med/Surg Registered Nurse
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions
- Assess patient and family needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide direct patient care, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans as needed
- Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions
- Promote a healing environment by offering emotional support and comfort to patients and families
- Administer medications and perform nursing interventions according to best clinical practices
- Accurately document care provided and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
- Comply with infection prevention strategies and hospital safety protocols
