Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (Intermediate Care, IMCU, telemetry)
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- End Date: April 25, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48-hour contracts available)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1780 - $1910
- Employment Type: W2 travel nurse
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (required at start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown, IMCU, telemetry, or acute care nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working with students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; weekend and holiday shifts may be required
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient conditions, administer medications, and implement individualized care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote clinical excellence and ongoing learning
- Participate in orientation and continuing nursing education
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety and quality standards
- Perform charge nurse duties as needed (with training and pay differential)
- Mentor and support students and new hires in a teaching hospital setting
