Med/Surg RN Job Details – Tallahassee, FL

• Location: Tallahassee, FL 32308 (Florida nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 8-13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
• Employment Type: Travel, On-Site
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530-$1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida RN license preferred)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Med/Surg RN
• Experience in Same Day Surgery, Detox, Bone Marrow Transplant, Mental Health, or IDD is a plus

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and set care goals
• Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and initiate discharge planning from admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity and safety of care
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Promote and maintain patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies and clinical best practices
• Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit-based team building activities
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
