Radiology Technologist Job Details
- Position Type: Travel Radiology Technologist, On-Site
- Location: Rockford, IL 61114 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (12/4/2025 – 3/5/2026)
- Shift: Friday to Sunday, Night Shift (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with On-Call and Holiday Rotation
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 10-hour night shifts
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000 - $2050
Radiology Technologist Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech)
- Current ARRT Radiography registration required
- IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required (Illinois state requirement)
- CPR or BLS certification (within 90 days of hire)
- Proficiency in Diagnostic Imaging, including CT, MRI, Vascular, Dexa, and general Diagnostic specialties
Radiology Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures in a clinical setting
- Review patient clinical history, verify imaging orders, and ensure required labs are completed
- Provide patient education, ensuring comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment and accessories for high-quality diagnostic results
- Apply principles of radiation protection and adhere to ALARA guidelines
- Process and review images for quality assurance before submitting for physician interpretation
- Document all procedures and relevant information in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Assist radiologists with fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations
- Prepare and assist in administering contrast media as needed
- Provide instruction and training to new technologists and radiography students
- Operate mobile radiologic equipment in various hospital departments as required
- Coordinate and adjust patient and staff schedules to optimize workflow
