PCU RN Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), step-down, or acute care setting
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and critical thinking skills

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; respond promptly to changes in status
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and patient families to ensure optimal outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-discharge instructions
