Radiology Technologist Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) in a hospital or clinical setting
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible
- Ability to rotate through all radiology departments
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, self-starter attitude
- Commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and customer service excellence in healthcare
- Must maintain required hours of continuing medical education (CME)
Radiology Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform computerized tomographic (CT) radiological procedures and general diagnostic radiology exams
- Explain imaging procedures and prepare patients for CT scans
- Review clinical data and obtain additional patient history as needed
- Prepare procedure rooms and maintain adequate stock of medical supplies
- Set up and operate CT equipment, ensuring optimal diagnostic imaging results
- Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Assist radiologists in complex sterile diagnostic procedures, including biopsies
- Demonstrate principles of radiation protection and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) techniques
- Ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS and complete study indexing in RIS
- Document all procedures and patient interactions in medical and radiology information systems
- Consistently demonstrate healthcare team standards of excellence, including open communication, positive attitude, and respect for diversity
