Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Charleston, SC 29425 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Main Operating Room, Level I Trauma Center, Academic Teaching Facility
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:30 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530 - $1640
- Weekend Requirement: Up to one weekend shift every 4 weeks
- Holiday Requirement: At least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float between similar units or sister facilities
- Charting System: EPIC
- Parking: On-site garage available for a nominal registration fee
OR RN Qualifications
- Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact Registered Nurse license (must be active before start date)
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience (2 years preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Radiation badge (provided by agency)
- Experience in Level I Trauma Center preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Ability to provide clinical support to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- First-time travel nurses welcome
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Main Operating Room, supporting all surgical specialties: trauma, transplant, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics
- Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures as part of a collaborative nurse-driven team
- Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the EPIC electronic health record system
- Float to similar units as needed to support hospital operations
- Participate in emergency response teams, especially during hurricane season (June–November)
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and required orientation modules
