Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Massachusetts respiratory care jobs)
• Facility Type: Hospital – Inpatient, Level 1 Trauma Center
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 4, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend and holiday required
• Hours: 36 guaranteed per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1950-$2000/week
• Employment Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist Contract

Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Level 1 trauma facility
• Critical care experience in MICU and SICU settings
• Expertise in lung protective ventilation strategies
• Active participation on Code Blue teams
• Proficient in ventilator management and patient assessment
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Massachusetts Respiratory Care License required
• BLS certification required
• NPS and/or ACCS certifications preferred
• Experience with Level III NICU and Drager XL/v500 ventilators preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced respiratory therapy to critically ill patients in a hospital setting
• Manage ventilators and perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Respond to Code Blue emergencies and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document care and coordinate treatment using EPIC EMR
• Implement lung protective ventilation and evidence-based respiratory practices
• Support MICU, SICU, and Level III NICU units as needed
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
