Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Massachusetts respiratory care jobs)
- Facility Type: Hospital – Inpatient, Level 1 Trauma Center
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 4, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend and holiday required
- Hours: 36 guaranteed per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1950-$2000/week
- Employment Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist Contract
Respiratory Therapist Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Level 1 trauma facility
- Critical care experience in MICU and SICU settings
- Expertise in lung protective ventilation strategies
- Active participation on Code Blue teams
- Proficient in ventilator management and patient assessment
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Massachusetts Respiratory Care License required
- BLS certification required
- NPS and/or ACCS certifications preferred
- Experience with Level III NICU and Drager XL/v500 ventilators preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced respiratory therapy to critically ill patients in a hospital setting
- Manage ventilators and perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Respond to Code Blue emergencies and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Document care and coordinate treatment using EPIC EMR
- Implement lung protective ventilation and evidence-based respiratory practices
- Support MICU, SICU, and Level III NICU units as needed
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
