Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Job Title: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown (Night Shift)
• Location: Peoria, IL 61636 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (5C Cardiac)
• Shift: Night Shift (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with potential to extend)
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2200-$2260

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience (cardiac or stepdown unit preferred)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient care skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to cardiac stepdown patients
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Implement and modify care plans based on ongoing patient evaluation
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all nursing care and clinical support activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards
• Provide constructive feedback and support professional development of peers
• Demonstrate initiative in identifying and meeting personal learning and development needs
