Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Jefferson, NC 28640 (Ashe County)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (LDRP – mother and baby care)
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours may be available)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1–2
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020–$2070

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced), Fetal Heart Monitoring
• Proven autonomy and experience in LDRP settings
• Ability to float to MedSurg, CNA, secretary, or support roles as needed
• Experience with Centricity and Meditech Magic charting systems preferred
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply!

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care to mothers and newborns in the LDRP unit
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs
• Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including high-risk obstetric cases
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units as required by hospital needs
• Accurately document patient care using hospital charting systems
• Promote a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered healthcare environment
