Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Nashville, TN 37203 (Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Openings: 2 Med/Surg RN positions
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1650-$1770

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside clinical experience as a Med/Surg RN highly desired.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills in a hospital setting

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and clinical safety protocols
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation and recovery programs
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and participate in unit team-building activities
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education and self-study relevant to Med/Surg nursing
