Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Newnan, GA 30265 (Georgia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: May 4, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1610
• Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (General Med/Surg & Peritoneal Dialysis)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or Compact state (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience (Med/Surg RN; unit accepts first-time travelers)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6
• Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred
• Must complete compliance requirements and labs within 48 hours of contract signing

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Medical Surgical unit
• Manage general medical/surgical and peritoneal dialysis diagnoses
• Perform and document patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress
• Utilize clinical skills: continuous bladder irrigation, isolation precautions, MS/Tele, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, pre/post hemodialysis management, and telemetry
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and more
• Respond to rapid response/code teams as needed
• Float to other nursing units within scope of practice as required
• Work every other weekend and be available for major holidays per assignment policy
