NICU RN Job Details
- Location: Worcester, Massachusetts 01605
- Healthcare Setting: Level III/IV NICU
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
- Start Date: December 30, 2025
- End Date: March 31, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Neonates and infants (daily census ~40, 49 beds)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license (conditional license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level III or IV NICU
- NRP certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- BLS certification
- EPIC charting experience required
- Infant Driven Feeding Training preferred
- Ability to pass Tele exam during orientation (minimum score 80%)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
NICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants
- Monitor and manage patients with complications of prematurity, including respiratory distress syndrome, therapeutic hypothermia, and surgical interventions
- Administer medications, blood products, and perform advanced procedures such as arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Support feeding (bottle, breast, gavage) and provide breastfeeding support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, and social services
- Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
- Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and required compliance modules
