Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: 19 James Med Surg Oncology (Medical Surgical Oncology)
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Rotating (Day: 07:00-19:30, Night: 19:00-07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940-$1990

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio or compact state (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• BCLS certification (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Ability to float to other Medical Surgical Oncology units as needed
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or supervisor)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Manage comorbidities and deliver symptom management for disease progression or treatment side effects
• Implement infection prevention and patient fall prevention protocols
• Operate and manage specialized equipment: B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds
• Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Access ports, manage arterial and central lines, and administer blood products
• Start and maintain IVs, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, and manage high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
