ER RN Travel Job Details
- Location: Clinton, Maryland (20735) – Greater Washington, D.C. area
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (ER)
- Start Date: January 12, 2026
- End Date: April 13, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and as needed for holidays
- Floating: Required within skillset as needed
Emergency Room RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state (multi-state) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Strong triage skills required
- Recent experience in an ER with at least 125 patient visits per day within the past 8 months
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (current and valid)
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Two (2) supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
ER RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages (neonates to geriatrics)
- Perform triage, IV starts, phlebotomy, and manage ventilated patients in a fast-paced ER environment
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; utilize CPAP/BiPAP and adhere to isolation precautions
- Efficiently prioritize and organize care for a daily ER census of 130+ patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory therapy, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Float to other nursing units within your skillset as needed
- Work every other weekend and as needed for holidays
