Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
• Healthcare Setting: Surgical Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 23 beds, daily census of 22
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio state or compact nursing license required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
• IV certification required
• Proven experience monitoring and interpreting telemetry
• Must pass telemetry test
• EPIC electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Two professional references required (one from a manager, director, or formal leader)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a surgical step-down/progressive care unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage IVs, and administer medications as a skilled Med/Surg Telemetry RN
• Perform general nursing duties, including phlebotomy, wound care, and patient education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services
• Document patient care using EPIC EHR system
• Float to other hospital units as required based on census and staffing needs
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and healthcare regulations
