Radiology Technologist Job Details
- Location: Midlothian, VA 23114 (Richmond metro area)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1830–$1970
- Assignment Type: Travel Radiology Technologist (must reside at least 50 miles from facility)
- Start Date: December 8, 2025
- End Date: March 7, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: Days, Monday–Thursday (9:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Call: 1 week every 6th week (Mon–Thurs 7:30 PM–7:00 AM, Fri 3:30 PM–7:00 AM, Sat & Sun 7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
- Estimated Hours Per Week: 40
- Unit Details: 6 C-arms, 1 O-arm, 3 minis, 2 fluoro rooms, 2 general rooms, 1 chest room, 4 portables
Radiology Technologist Qualifications
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and registration (required)
- Valid Virginia Radiology License (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from American Heart Association (required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care (required)
- Experience in Diagnostic Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Operating Room (OR), and Emergency Room (ER) settings (required)
- At least 6 months of hospital-based radiology experience
- Travel healthcare candidates only (must live 50+ miles from facility)
- EPIC EHR and PACS experience (preferred)
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited program (preferred)
Radiology Technologist Responsibilities
- Obtain and document patient clinical history and lab work for use by licensed practitioners
- Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest while ensuring comfort and safety
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others
- Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and accessories
- Assist practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, applying aseptic technique as needed
- Verify informed consent and complete pre- and post-procedure documentation
- Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed
- Evaluate images for technical quality and document patient dose exposures
- Interact professionally with physicians, technologists, hospital staff, patients, and families
- Operate radiographic equipment in accordance with ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
