• Location: Petersburg, VA 23805 (Richmond area)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 14, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend, 1 major holiday
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,880 - $2,020
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Details: 30-bed mixed Med/Surg Telemetry unit; float to other MS/Tele units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year recent acute care RN experience (required)
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience (required)
• Successful completion of dysrhythmia exam (study guide available)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and provide proof of address
• Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience; CAPD experience preferred
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg Tele units as needed

RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policies
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and communicate with families
• Monitor and manage patients with multi-system organ failure, trauma, and complex medical conditions
• Operate clinical equipment: Alaris pumps, Hercules beds, BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomies, chest tubes, tube feeds
• Provide pre- and post-hemodialysis care, including CAPD
• Perform phlebotomy and collaborate with CNAs and sitters as needed
• Maintain patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients and families, advocate for patient choices, and support coping with illness or injury
• Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and compassionate, relationship-based care
