Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – American Heart Association

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in the Med/Surg unit, following nursing best practices and hospital protocols
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Implement and modify patient care plans based on ongoing evaluation and patient needs
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of all nursing care provided
• Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Participate in hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and utilize whiteboards for enhanced communication
• Collaborate with critical care teams for ICU lite patients and hospitalists for advanced care cases
• Engage in ongoing professional development and meet all departmental competencies
