ER RN Job Details – Milwaukee, WI

• Location: Milwaukee, WI 53227 (Wisconsin healthcare jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020-$2070
• Setting: Emergency Department (20 beds, 8 overflow, 4 CA chairs)
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 4, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour evening shifts (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday during contract
• Scrub Color: Any professional color (no camo, denim, or hoodies)
• Parking: Free parking available

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Wisconsin or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
• 2-5 years of overall clinical nursing experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required (TNCC preferred)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR within the last 2 years
• Strong IV skills, cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, foley and NGT placement/management
• First-time travel nurses accepted with 3+ years of ED experience

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatrics (5-8%), adults, and geriatrics
• Manage diverse cases: chest pain, stroke, sepsis, orthopedic injuries, respiratory distress/failure, STEMI, COVID-19, and behavioral health
• Maintain safe patient ratios (1:3-4)
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor patient status
• Administer medications and perform clinical procedures (IVs, foley, NGT, etc.)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: charge nurses, educators, phlebotomists, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
• Float to other hospital units as needed (task-based only)
• Utilize Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing systems, and bedside telemetry monitoring
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education
