PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• End Date: March 23, 2026
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: EPIC (preferred)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Work Setting: On-site, Progressive Care Unit
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1750-$1800

PCU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina (required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or stepdown RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac drip management
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, stroke (CVA), external CPAP/BIPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, insulin/vasoactive drip titration
• Willingness to float to other hospital units or affiliate hospitals
• Two supervisory references required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Locals accepted (50-mile radius rule applies)

PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care/stepdown setting
• Monitor and manage patients with critical care stepdown needs, including neuro/stroke and cardiac conditions
• Perform telemetry monitoring and respond rapidly to changes in patient status
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips according to protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC (preferred)
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
