CVOR RN Job Details
- Location: Washington, DC 20010 (prime location for DC nursing jobs)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130 - $2280
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (Day: 06:30–19:00 or Evening: 11:00–23:30)
- On Call: 6 calls per 6-week schedule; includes one weekend or holiday per 6 weeks
- Float: May float to general surgery if no CVOR cases available
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Unit: 23-room Cardiovascular OR; 60 surgical cases/day, 8–10 open heart surgeries/day
- Parking: On-campus parking provided
CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted; must be active before start date)
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience, including circulating in Level 1 trauma settings
- At least one completed travel nurse assignment
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Two supervisor references required
CVOR RN Responsibilities
- Circulate and assist in complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve replacements, LVAD, heart transplants, and endovascular procedures
- Deliver expert patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity CVOR environment
- Float to general surgery as needed to support hospital operations
- Participate in on-call rotation, including occasional weekends and holidays
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, radiology, pharmacy, and support staff)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner
- Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols
