CVOR RN Job Details

• Location: Washington, DC 20010 (prime location for DC nursing jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130 - $2280
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (Day: 06:30–19:00 or Evening: 11:00–23:30)
• On Call: 6 calls per 6-week schedule; includes one weekend or holiday per 6 weeks
• Float: May float to general surgery if no CVOR cases available
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Unit: 23-room Cardiovascular OR; 60 surgical cases/day, 8–10 open heart surgeries/day
• Parking: On-campus parking provided

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted; must be active before start date)
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience, including circulating in Level 1 trauma settings
• At least one completed travel nurse assignment
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Two supervisor references required

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Circulate and assist in complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve replacements, LVAD, heart transplants, and endovascular procedures
• Deliver expert patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity CVOR environment
• Float to general surgery as needed to support hospital operations
• Participate in on-call rotation, including occasional weekends and holidays
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, radiology, pharmacy, and support staff)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner
• Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols
