ER RN Job Details

• Location: Alamogordo, NM 88310 (Southern New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel, Full Time
• Unit: Emergency Department (ER)
• Duration: 13-week contract (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/19/2026)
• Shifts: Multiple shifts available, including 12-hour nights (15:00–03:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend days per 6 weeks
• On Call: 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks (for emergencies or extra coverage)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800

ER Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact state (New Mexico nursing jobs)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience in a Trauma I, II, or III setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
• Successful completion of Emergency Department-specific competency validation

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to diverse populations, including trauma, cardiac, pediatric, and behavioral health patients
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for all assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in the electronic health record
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain annual competency verification and adhere to all hospital policies
