PICU RN Travel Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43205 (Ohio travel nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (December 29, 2025 – March 30, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float Pool
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,250 - $2,310
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
• Floating: Required to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department (ED), Stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed

PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN experience (current PICU experience required)
• Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at time of application)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system (must rate at least 3/4 in Epic)
• Experience with Level 1 Trauma preferred
• Must provide 2 professional references (at least one from a nurse manager or supervisor)
• Willingness to float to other critical care and MedSurg units as needed
• Travel RN experience preferred; first-time travel nurses considered with 3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma background
• Cannot have worked as a permanent RN at this facility within the past 2 years
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the facility (no local candidates)

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, family-centered nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU and float units
• Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions, including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and administration of critical medications
• Perform and assist with specialized procedures such as arterial line management, central line care, intubation, and chest tube maintenance
• Administer blood products, antiarrhythmics, anti-seizure medications, and IV vasopressors as needed
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• Utilize infection control and isolation precautions to ensure patient and staff safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Educate and support patients’ families throughout the care process
• Comply with all facility float expectations and adapt to various critical care and MedSurg environments
