• Location: Maryville, IL 62062 – Convenient to the greater St. Louis area, with access to beautiful parks and a welcoming small-town community. Perfect for nurses seeking Illinois nursing jobs or St. Louis area healthcare positions.
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/29/2025 – End: 3/30/2026)
• Shift: 4x12-hour night shifts (6:00pm – 6:30am); every 3rd weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1930 - $2070
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (OBGYN), 20 beds
• Scrubs: Provided
• Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital or clinical setting
• Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Experience with Meditech documentation and Pyxis medication systems preferred
• Ability to provide care for both neonates and adult patients
• At least one supervisor reference required at submission
• Valid state RN license in hand at time of submission

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit
• Perform and interpret NST (non-stress test), OCT (oxytocin challenge test), and sterile vaginal exams
• Triage obstetrical patients and utilize EFM (external and internal fetal monitoring)
• Place and calibrate IUPC (intrauterine pressure catheter), spiral electrodes, and recognize/treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Administer blood and blood products, start and maintain peripheral IVs, and manage infusion pumps/drips
• Circulate and recover C-section patients, ensuring optimal patient outcomes
• Assist with epidural anesthesia and perform venous blood draws as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, pharmacy, and social services
• Accurately document all patient care in Meditech electronic health records
