• Location: Richmond, VA 23219 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Level IV NICU (Single-Family Room, 40 beds)
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 36 hours (includes modules)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820 - $1950

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience (Level III or Level IV NICU preferred)
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (must be current at time of application)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
• Ability to float within scope as needed
• Two recent professional references required

NICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered neonatal care in a Level IV NICU setting
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage advanced equipment (ventilators, CPAP, central lines)
• Assist with specialized neonatal procedures (lumbar puncture, conscious sedation, post-surgical care)
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, lab results, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Support breastfeeding and developmental care initiatives for newborns
• Educate and support families throughout their NICU journey
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, and more)
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC charting system
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies
